Abstract
"In a love affair, infidelity is a painful event that creates feelings of disappointment in a partner and can result in a decrease in the quality of life of a person. The aim of the study was to see a picture of forgiveness in young adults who experience loss of love because of infidelity in long-distance love relationships. Forgiveness is defined as the process of releasing negative emotions from a painful event and effort in making new changes or steps for the healing process. Data collection in the study used a mixed method design for 30 participants to obtain 4 participants who had high forgiveness scores. Then the researchers included 4 of these participants in the study over a period of 4 months from March to June. The results showed that each young adult gradually developed forgiving characteristics in dealing with infidelity problems in long-distance love relationships after deciding to end the affair.
