Abstract
The aim of this research is to know the comparative of leadership style based on parenting style of leaders of student organization at X University. This study uses purposive sampling that involved 45 participants, consisting of 30 males and 15 females. Participants also have such criteria: the student of X University that became the leader of student organization and has lived with their parents, both or one of them. The results of this study are: (a) the leaders of student organization tend to implement transformational leadership (M= 2,50) than transactional leadership (M= 2,50), and laissez-faire leadership (M= 1,12); (b) there were 41 leaders of student organization (91.1%) who received authoritative parenting and 4 leaders of student organization (8.9%) who received authoritarian parenting; (c) there are not a significant difference of transformational leadership based on parenting style; (d) there are significant difference of transactional leadership based on parenting style; and (e) there are not significant difference of laissez-faire leadership based on parenting style.
